My Story

 

The first day I walked into the room for 'painting 101- the beginners art class,'  the Professor made us cut out random pictures from a magazine, glue them chaotically onto a canvas and then 'paint their story' on top of it.  What a mess! A beautiful mess. 

 

That's how I look at art - Art has a way of blending science with beauty, psychology with color, emotion with texture - painting takes the mess of random knowledge in my head and spills it out onto canvas - in a much more aesthetically pleasing way!

 

At my core I am a bio-geek, but Im also pretty spiritual, so it is no surprise many of my paintings involve living creatures and bright, happily unrealistic colors. That is how I view the world, the extraordinary contained within the ordinary.
